No success on recruitment portals – Riverstate as an industry tip
When a technical assistant position became available on the team, Mader started his search on a portal. “I advertised the position there three times, without success,” says the managing director. “Either the applications were immediately rejected, or the candidates sounded good on paper but turned out not to be a good fit during the interview. The selection simply wasn’t very good.” A contact from another association suggested we try Riverstate. “They had similar staffing problems as we did and thought they’d find a solution with Riverstate,” Mader says. “Because the board was also quickly convinced, we were able to start the recruitment process with Riverstate – and then things actually moved along quite quickly.”
After the setup day, Riverstate began searching for suitable candidates. The GSB team didn’t have to wait long – and the preparatory work of the setup day was noticeable in the quality of the candidates: “Just two weeks after the setup day, the first candidates were presented to us,” says Mader. “Not only were the candidates relevant and a good fit, but their candidate profiles were also very well-developed, allowing us to gain a good impression of the applicants.”
Riverstate not only prepared candidate profiles but also supported the GSB team in planning and coordinating the interviews, which also required the association’s board of directors to be present, as well as the subsequent process. In their collaboration, Riverstate and GSB International found a good balance between flexibility and a structured approach.
“In any case, it was extremely positive that we were constantly reminded of the next steps and that we kept in regular contact, which prevented the process from coming to a standstill,” said Mader.
Candidate No. 4 was finally able to convince Mader and the GSB board – and less than two months after the setup day, the contract was signed and GSB International had found its new technical assistant.
“Our goal was to fill the position at the beginning of the year, and with Riverstate, the matter was settled by mid-November,” Mader said. “The search was quickly successful, and the entire collaboration was pleasant and uncomplicated. Therefore, I would work with Riverstate again in the future and have also recommended Riverstate to our board members.”
