“Building better and better” is the motto of the Mark-A. Krüger construction company , which, as a subsidiary of Krüger-Holding GmbH, specializes in the shell construction sector. Together with Krüger Bau Bernau GmbH, the sister company for turnkey construction, the medium-sized group of companies is well positioned for a wide range of construction projects in the Berlin and Brandenburg area. But despite excellent prospects and considerable job security, the search for talented foremen, construction engineers, and managers is proving difficult. “Finding skilled workers who are also willing to take on the rigors of the construction profession is our biggest problem,” says Managing Director Mark-André Krüger. “Since we train our own junior staff, we really only look for absolute professionals externally, and those are hard to come by. What’s more, for us, the person is the most important factor, followed by their qualifications.
If your own resources aren’t sufficient to fill painful staffing gaps, turning to a recruiter is actually a logical step. Mark-André Krüger was initially skeptical of this alternative: “For me, a recruitment agency is actually the last resort for recruiting workers,” says the managing director. “Far too often, other service providers are unprepared and full of empty promises.”
