Since 1986, the Hamburg-based specialist freight forwarder has been paving the way for the transport of general cargo, partial and full loads, and special transports. CS Conti-Service specializes in deliveries from and to Eastern Europe and the Middle East. High demands , few applicants

Due to the company’s Eurasia-wide growth, CS Conti-Service is constantly in need of new employees, but recruiting them is becoming increasingly difficult. In the past, the team searched for new employees on platforms like Xing and StepStone, but failed to find talented individuals who met the company’s high standards.

“Before Riverstate, our recruiting wasn’t working,” explains Körner. “Because anyone looking for a job in today’s market is doing it wrong. The best talent isn’t actively looking for a job, and those we find through job postings are usually not good enough to stay with the company long-term.”

Lowering the standards was out of the question for the managing director – after all, the freight forwarders carry enormous responsibility: “In our scheduling department, the revenue per employee is very high,” explains Körner. “Regular errors can cause enormous financial damage. That’s why we need reliable potential, and Riverstate has helped us with that.”

Körner and his team opted for Riverstate’s Premium Recruiting to find a dispatcher (freight forwarding agent) with German, English, and Russian skills, as well as an accountant for the company. The managing director initially liked Riverstate’s offer because of its cost structure.

One of the reasons why the search for a dispatcher was so difficult was the difficulty of translating the complex role into job advertisements: The term “dispatcher” is extremely broad, and the German term “forwarding clerk” is little known in the international market. The required language skills also posed difficulties: Often, applications were received from people who simply had the right language skills – and nothing more.

To avoid such unsuitable applications and find talented individuals who fit the right profile, Riverstate organized a setup meeting with Körner and his team. Based on the jointly created job profile, Riverstate designed a recruiting campaign to quickly fill the positions with the right people.
